Cardigan Bay is an outstanding and internationally important area for marine wildlife. Designated a Special Area of Conservation, it was the UK's first Marine Heritage Coast, sheltering some of Britain's rarest birds and marine species and home to a resident population of some 130 bottlenose dolphins, porpoise and grey seals. Ceredigion's Coast and Countryside Unit arranges an annual programme of guided walks and talks popular with residents and visitors alike.
